Commissioned as a 2nd Lt.  into the Royal Corps of Signals in 1972, served in 262 Signal Squadron, Cyprus, and 22 Signal Regiment as Corps (Rear) Recce Officer.  Transferred to Royal Army Pay Corps in 1977 and saw service with 12 Air Defence Regiment in Dortmund, Germany, and also Northern Ireland during the conflict.  Attached to British Gurkhas in Kathmandu in 1979/80 and served in the Falkland Islands in 1983 as Commander Finance.  In 1986 took the British Exchange Officer position attached to U.S. Army Finance Corps Regiment in Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, IN., before retiring as a Major in October 1988.  

For fun, I like to run and hike, as well as partake in ocean sailing. Scrabble wars also occupy a lot of my time.
